Biography
Desune Franklin "Des" Coleman (born 14 March 1969) is a British actor, singer, and weather presenter. He attended the Guildford School of Acting in Surrey and is best known for playing Lenny Wallace in the BBC soap EastEnders. In 2007, he worked as a standby weather presenter for Laura Tobin on ITV’s Good Morning Britain. He later became the weatherman for BBC’s East Midlands Today but was dismissed in 2011. In 2016, he joined ITV Central as the weather presenter for ITV News Central. In his twenties, Coleman spent time in prison. While studying at acting school, he was diagnosed with a form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, from which he is now in remission. In November 2018, he was rushed to hospital after collapsing from a bowel hemorrhage. He underwent surgery to remove tumors in his bowel and spent two days on life support, but recovered by February 2019. Today, he continues as the weather presenter for ITV News Central, appearing on air at 6:00 pm across the Midlands.
