Dr. Bruce Means is a prominent biologist and educator known for his extensive work in ecological research and conservation. He has contributed significantly to the understanding of biodiversity in the southeastern United States. Dr. Means has taught courses on the ecology of upland, wetland, and coastal environments of the southeastern U. S. and courses on vertebrate biology, ichthyology, mammalogy, herpetology, general biology, tropical ecology, and conservation biology and has published over 310 scientific articles on topics such as fire ecology, amphibians, and reptiles. He has also authored several books, including "Stalking the Plumed Serpent" and "Basecamp in the Tropics," and has been featured in numerous documentaries by National Geographic and other organizations.
